1997:
GB started association with Bajaj in 1997, importing Chetakscooters.
Started selling scooters thru dealer network and gradually expanded nos.
1999:
3w import started.
Started building the sales gradually, specially in rural areas, as it is a new concept Vehicle.
2001:
With Bajaj stopping production of scooter, started Motorcycle sales.
2010:
Started in house finance company called “mashroey”.
2011:
Launched Boxer 150 –specially designed model for Egypt market.
Since introduction of Boxer 150, made strong inroad into commuter segment.
2012:
Attain leadership position on Deluxe commuter segment, and Discover become single largest selling model.
2w sales grown 178% against Industry de growth.
2014:
In response to Govtregulation, started CKD assembly line with capacity of 75,000 units per year.
Reached market share of 44% and Boxer become single largest selling Model.
2015:
Expected to cross sales of 50000 units ..another mile stone.
1945 - 1980
On November 29 Bajaj Auto came into existence as Bachraj Trading Corporation Private Limited
Commenced sales of imported two & three wheelers from Vespa
Bachraj Trading Corporation Pvt Ltd. applied to Government of India for manufacture of Motor scooters and auto rickshaws
Obtained licence to manufacture two & three wheelers. Changed company name to Bajaj Auto Private Ltd
Became a public company
Produced its 1,00,000th scooter
Introduced three–wheeled goods carrier
Started independent production – under Bajaj brand
Introduced Bajaj Chetak scooter
Began exports in of scooters & 3 wheelers to Nigeria, Bangladesh, Australia, Sudan, Bahrain, Hong Kong and Yemen
Collaborated with PT. Tunas Bekasi Motor Co. Jakarta for technical knowhow for manufacture of scooters and 3-wheelers in Indonesia
Collaborated with Paijifa Industrial Co. in Taiwan for scooters
Introduced rear engine auto rickshaw. Sold 100,000 vehicles in one financial year
1981 - 1990
Launched Bajaj M–50. More than 1.1 million motorcycles booked
Inauguration of the Waluj by the erstwhile President of India, Giani Zail Singh. Commercial production of scooters commenced at this plant.
Introduced the Bajaj M–80. Sold 500,000 vehicles in a single financial year
Began commercial production of a 100 cc motorcycle "Kawasaki Bajaj KB-100" in collaboration with Kawasaki Heavy Industries
Developed a 50 cc (Bajaj Sunny) and 150 cc scooter (Bajaj Legend)
1991 - 2000
Introduced Kawasaki Bajaj 4S Champion motorcycle
Received ISO-9001 certification from BVQI on March 20, 1995
Signed agreements with Kubota of Japan for the development of diesel engines for three-wheelers and with Tokyo R&D for ungeared scooter and moped development
Introduced the Kawasaki Bajaj Boxer and the RE diesel Auto rickshaw
Commenced production at company's 3rd manufacturing plant at Chakan
Introduced Boxer' - a new 4-stroke motorcycle
Introduced India's first 4-stroke scooter 'Bajaj Legend' & new 2-stroke scooter 'Bravo' with an advanced 5-port engine
