I have starting problem with my Vehicle
- Check if the kill switch is in OFF position. Put it in ON position.
- Check that the fuel clock is at the respective Reserve or ON position.
- Check the fuel in the fuel tank, fill to usable reserve if found less.
- Check spark plug cap for firm fitment.
- Check spark for no fooling (Short).
- Check for no overflow of fuel from carburetor drain pipe.
- Check for Air filter clogged (Icon will pop-up on speedometer....Applicable for Polsar DTSi 200/220 cc.).
Vehicle does not start in the mornings
- Use chock to start the bike. When chock applied do not open the accelerator.
- Check idling rpm - If too less approach the authorized dealer workshop for correct adjustment.
- Incorrect carburetor setting . Approach the authorized dealer workshop for correct adjustment.
- Check the fuel quality in the fuel tank. If suspected change the fuel.
- Leakage in the intake manifold. Approach the authorized dealer workshop for correct adjustment.
My Vehicle is giving low mileage, what can I do ?
- Check the idling rpm. It shoold be specific
- Air filter might be clogged. Get it cleaned from authorized dealer's workshop.
- Check freely opening & closing of chock lever / knob. If sticky get it repaired.
- Check both wheels for free rotation.
- Check all control cables for free operation.
- Get the carburetor tuned for optimum performance.
- Confirm that there is no leakage / theft of fuel happening.
- Always fill the fuel at reputed fuel pump.
- Maintain correct tyre pressure & check it periodically.
- Never park the bike in direct sunlight to avoid evaporation of fuel.
- Drive the bike in economy zone displayed on speedometer.
- Avoid sudden Braking & Acceleration.
Self-starter is not working
- Check the battery condition.(A Low battery voltage icon will pop up on speedometer ....Applicable to XCD & Polsar DTSi models) If battery is discharged then self start is not possible. Push Start or Kick Start the vehicle & approach authorized dealer workshop for necessary repairs.
- Blown Fuse - Replace it.
The engine starts but stops immediately
- Check fuel in the fuel tank. Fill fuel to usable reserve if found less.
- Air filter intake passage must have blocked by keeping duster / cloth below the seat.
Engine stalls when I try to race

- Check that the fuel cock is placed the respective position (ON or Reserve)
Pick-up for the vehicle is poor
- Check fuel for no adulteration / contamination. If suspected replace fuel.
- Air filter might have clogged.
- Wheels are not freely rotating.
- Breaks are tight.
There is excess smoke in the exhaust
- Check fuel if it is contaminated / adulterated. Replace the fuel.
- Somebody might had injected oil in silencer tail end. Drive for some kms & confirm for smoke.
- Air filter might be clogged. Get it cleaned from authorized workshop.
- Check for carburetor overflow. If overflow is seen get it repaired from authorized dealer's workshop.
- Check clutch lever free play. Adjust if required.
- Check cable for jam operation - get it replaced from authorized dealer workshop.
- Check if gear change lever is faoling with rider footrest.
- Gear changer lever / shaft bend due to accidental impact.
- Worn Out Clutch plates. Get it replaced from authorized dealer workshop.
Gear does not engage properly ( False Neutral )
- Check clutch lever free play. Adjust if required.
- Check cable for jam operation - get it replaced from authorized dealer workshop.
- Check if gear change lever is faoling with rider footrest.
- Gear changer lever / shaft bend due to accidental impact.
- Worn Out Clutch plates. Get it replaced from authorized dealer workshop.
Have problem climbing slope
- Check fuel for no adulteration / contamination.
- Air filter might have clogged. Get it cleaned from authorized dealer's workshop.
- Incorrect carburetor adjustment. Get it tuned from authorized dealer's workshop.
- Worn out clutch plates. Get it replaced from authorized dealer's workshop.
Oil leakage from engine
- Check the oil level through oil inspection window / Dip stick.
- Top up the level up to the minimum level Mark & approach the authorized workshop for necessary repairs immediately.
The disc brakes are giving a noise when applied
- Check brake disc it should be free from mud & dirt accumulation. Clean it with a cloth if required.
- Check brake pads. It should be free from dust & mud accumulation. Clean it If noise still persists approach the authorized dealer workshop for necessary repairs.
Chain is creating noise
- Park the vehicle on main stand & rotate the rear wheel.
- Check if the drive chain is loose & running dry.
- Lubricate the chain if possible or approach the authorized dealer workshop for necessary repairs.
Horn is very feeble
- Press the horn button firmly.
- Check if the battery is discharged. If battery discharged approach to authorized dealer workshop for repairs.
Horn works only when the engine is running
- Battery is discharged or fuse must have blown off. Approach to authorized dealer workshop for necessary repairs.
Lights are not working
- AC light not working: Check light ON-OFF switch button for smooth operation. If jammed or knob broken approach to authorized dealer workshop for necessary repairs.
- DC light not working : Battery is discharged or fuse blown OFF. Approach the authorized dealer workshop for necessary repairs.
Lights are Dim
- Check the head light glass externally clean if required.
- If the glass is found foggy / dusty from inner side get the glass cleaned or replace the head light reflector from authorized dealer's workshop.
The disc brakes are not working properly
- Check brake fluid in master cylinder for correct level. If not Top up to the Minimum level through authorized dealer's workshop.
- Check the break lever for breakage / Bend. Replace it if required.
Gear changing is very hard
- Check clutch lever freeness. / free play.
- Check clutch cable for sticky / jam in operation.
- Approach the authorized dealer's workshop for necessary repairs.
